John is a native Tennessean. Born and raised in Memphis, his family background is in ministry. John’s family has four generations of ministers in the Christian Church – Disciples of Christ. He completed his undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University, graduating Cum Laude with a BBA in Finance.

John is a founding partner of AJ Advisors. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and holds the Series 65 and Life Insurance licenses. His responsibilities include trading, working directly with clients to help build personalized financial plans, and serving on the firm’s investment committee.

John and his wife Emilie live near the 12th South neighborhood with their daughters Meredith and Lainey. He is the current treasurer for Nashville Tools for Schools which is a local non-profit that helps build furniture, shelving or any other items needed by Nashville’s public schools. John is a life elder at Woodmont Christian Church and is involved in many church programs. He previously served on the general church board, he was chair of the elder board as well as chair of the endowment committee. He was the treasurer for Nashville Emerging Leaders is involved in the community by providing lunch to Room in the Inn several times a year.
